Job Description:
FUNCTION The welding engineer assures that the manufacturing
processes used are capable of producing weldments that meet Sears
Manufacturing Company’s quality requirements. The welding engineer
will provide technical expertise and knowledge sufficient to solve
manufacturing problems, assist in procurement of new equipment, and
review new and current design for cost and manufacturability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This list of duties and
responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to
include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem
necessary from time to time. Production support, programming, and
implementing process control methods on shop floor. Developing and
improving current manufacturing processes. Responsible for mig and
robotic weld training programs. Create manufacturing processes for
building weldments. Review product designs for manufacturability
and propose improvements. Fine and implement profitable technology
improvements for welding processes. Develop night shift procedures
to prevent unplanned downtime. Assist engineering department in
coordinating design changes/problem solving on current product and
new designs. Prepare and refine written robot programs. Solve weld
and quality errors. Approve tooling concepts. Construct robotic
system configurations. Assist with the development and
implementation of goals and plans of action consistent with company
objectives. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an

standards. Ability to program robots. Ability to problem solve.
Knowledge of general manufacturing as well as
materials/metallurgic. Education and/or Experience Requires a
bachelor's degree in engineering specifically related to Weld
Engineering. Requires five to ten years of similar weld engineering
experience.
