Summary: As a Senior Controls Engineer, you will assist in the
buildout of the process automation architecture and lead the
controls programming for a wide variety of material handling and
process technology systems within the life sciences and chemical
industries. Everyday, you will develop automated process technology
working with key stakeholders, both internal and external, on
design requirements and solutions. This will involve PLC and HMI
programming, often from scratch, the testing/debugging of control
systems, I/O checkout, customer on-site support, and more.
Objectives: - Assist project managers with user requirements review
from a programming standpoint - Write PLC code for equipment and
control processes, often from scratch - Develop HMI applications
for equipment and control processes, often from scratch - Help set
technical direction within the Controls & Automation team - Review
programming for other Controls team members and coach - Complete
I/O checkout - Testing/Debugging of control systems on equipment -
Integrate equipment with third party control systems and networks -
Participate in equipment and process system design reviews -
Provide on-site support for customers as needed - Perform other
tasks as assigned by your manager from time to time Success in this
Role Looks Like: - PLC/HMI programs that pass I/O checkout,
testing, and FAT/SAT with minimal rework - Customer requirements
met with high level of customer satisfaction - Able to troubleshoot
and support controls systems independently Minimum Qualifications:
Education: • Bachelor’s degree in technical or engineering field OR
equivalent practical experience Experience: - Direct and proven
experience with PLC and HMI programming from scratch - Familiarity
with Allen Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix)
and HMIs (FactoryTalk View SE and ME) or similar - Familiarity with
PowerFlex Drives or other VFDs Software: • Proficiency in Microsoft
Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, Visio)

- Experience and consistent use of LogixDesigner v33 or greater -
Experience and consistent use of FactoryTalk View v12 or greater -
Experience with PlantPAx, sequencing/phase manager, AOIs and ladder
logic programming Working Conditions: - Office and shop-based work
environment with prolonged periods of sitting or standing while
working on a computer, reviewing designs, or supporting equipment
testing and debugging. - Hands-on exposure to industrial equipment
and manufacturing environments, including control panels,
instrumentation, and process systems. - 25% travel required to
customer sites for commissioning, troubleshooting, and on-site
support, including time spent standing walking, and working around
