Job DescriptionSalary: CompetitiveKnox College invites applications for the full-time, 12-month position of Director of College Engagement. The Director of College Engagement reports directly to the Vice President for Advancement. The Director of College Engagement provides strategy and leadership to develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive program designed to provide meaningful opportunities for participation, volunteerism, service, personal and professional development for alumni, parents, and friends. The director is an important member of the Advancement leadership team. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop, implement and evaluate strategic and operational plans, that build affinity and utilize metrics and benchmarking to connect alumni, parents and families to the College and one another, increasing engagement, service and support.
  • Facilitates partnerships with Admissions, career and research centers, faculty, and other campus stakeholders to strengthen the role of alumni in enrollment growth, student success, and strengthen ties to Knox.
  • Develops alumni social media strategies and collaborates with the Office of Communications on the creation of the Knox magazine and the content and maintenance of the alumni pages within the Knox website and web/social presence. Design and implement a suite of programs (in-person and virtual), publications, and platforms to help constituents socialize, network, and learn.
  • Collaborates with the key campus stakeholders to develop dynamic Homecoming celebrations, affinity and regional events. Contribute content to alumni- and family-related communication.
  • Meet with alumni and families one-on-one and in groups to develop and strengthen relationships on behalf of the College, qualify them for potential leadership or major giving, and/or connect them with opportunities to support student success.
  • Prepare strategies for alumni engagement components of fundraising efforts.
  • Provide leadership and structure to the Alumni Council through regular meetings, strategic plans, oversee committee work; and lead the recruitment of key volunteers, implementing engaging volunteer leadership roles focused on promoting Knox and alumni philanthropic support
  • Plan, organize, and implement a volunteer management strategy to support alumni groups
  • Ensure alignment of alumni and parent events and activities with the goals and objectives of the department and College.
  • Design and develop identification, recruitment, and engagement of parent volunteers and leadership. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    • Demonstrated experience in building relationships, making connections and bringing people together.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, highly collaborative environment
    • Outstanding interpersonal, presentation, and communications skills required, characterized by the ability to listen, to speak, and to write well, with a strong commitment to customer service
    • Ability to correspond and interact professionally with the board of directors, college staff, alumni, parents, students and other constituents
    • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and tact required.
    • Computer skills must include high competence in Microsoft Office software, social media, and database/CRM maintenance
    • Proficient in use of social media platforms including Meta, LinkedIn, Instagram and social connection platforms including Anthology, zoom and more..
    • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
    • Team-building skills to mentor the leadership and growth of volunteers
    • An appreciation for higher education and advancement work REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
      • Experience working in program development with experience clearly communicating and leading initiatives from inception to conclusion.
      • Computer skills must include high competence in Microsoft Office software, social media, and database/CRM maintenance
      • Proficient in use of social media platforms including Meta, LinkedIn, Instagram and social connection platforms including Anthology, zoom and more..
      • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
      • Willingness and ability to attend events outside of business hours required
      • Travel required PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
        • Bachelor's degree preferred, or minimum of 5 years of experience in similar roles managing high level relationships, diverse engagement programs and signature events both onsite and across the country.
