Job Description:
Overview POSITION SUMMARY: The Vice President of Clinical
Excellence & Nursing is responsible for the assessment,
development, implementation and evaluation of the effectiveness of
clinical & nursing practice, creation of innovative clinical models
of care, and clinical quality/safety and patient service programs
as well as metrics across the care continuum. Accountable for the
oversight of Solution Design Integration resources to build
clinical care standards, projects and solutions from creation to
implementation. Provides key input into clinical continuous
learning to support evidence based best clinical care practices and
clinical competencies through the development of clinical
excellence goals, education, and ministry-wide implementation.
Responsible for benchmarking, and development of best practices
including achievement of nursing magnet standards. Partners with
clinical leaders to align services from student to expert as well
as quality programs to support workforce planning as appropriate.
Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Masters in
Nursing Licenses/Certifications: Current state RN license
Certification in Nursing Administration required within one year of
hire into the position. Nursing Administration Certification
Experience: 7 years of progressively more responsible related
experience, with at least 3 years in an administrative capacity,
necessary in order to gain a thorough understanding of
Ministry-wide applicable government agency regulations and to
develop the ability to effectively organize and direct
Ministry-wide activities. Must possess a clear understanding of
information technology, finance, quality and legal issue related to
the delivery of healthcare. Nursing-administrative experience as a
facility or system clinical leader with a demonstrated history of
high ethical standards and improving clinical quality with
broad-based and up-to-date knowledge of nursing practice with
ability to integrate medical information from diverse areas and
build teams and relationships with results orientation and
commitment to staff development. Other skills/knowledge: Excellent
interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills,
including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical
and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Completion of a Doctorate of
Nursing preferred within four years in role. Other
requirements/information: Demonstrable understanding of current
CMS, Joint Commission, conditions of participation, and State of
Illinois rules and regulations governing health care, General
knowledge of finance, reimbursement, budgetary, strategic planning
in a multi-system healthcare environment and broad knowledge of
federal and state of Illinois regulatory environment, reimbursement
and licensure/standards/certification. Proven ability to command
respect and confidence with professional peers on direct provision,
referral and contractual basis with management & leadership
experience in a consumer focused healthcare. Exhibited leadership
