The HR Manager is responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function for Methodist College. The HR Manager also serves as a liaison between the College and UnityPoint Human Resources. Responsibilities Essential Functions/Responsibilities: Essential functions are the duties and responsibilities that are essential to the position (not a task list). % of Time (annually) Talent Management * Performance management ? designs, oversees and maintains the performance evaluation process * Employee relations ? advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues including corrective action and consults with legal department as needed * Employee engagement, retention and recognition ? works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention * Termination process ? conducts exit interviews, reviews and analyzes exit surveys, processes terminations in HRIS 20% Compensation * Oversees salary administration to ensure consistent and fair practices * Determines appropriate classification of new and existing positions to include job analysis and use of the position description questionnaire (PDQ) tool * Completes annual salary surveys and reviews survey data to ensure market competitiveness * Carries out the merit increase process to include the development of contracts and agreements for faculty 15% Oversight of HR Coordinator functions * Provides oversight and direction for HR Coordinator functions such as the hiring process (recruitment, advertising, interviewing, onboarding, orientation, etc.) and payroll administration 15% Methodist College Compliance Officer, Deputy Title IX Coordinator and EEO Officer * Compliance Officer ? ensures that the College remains in compliance with applicable laws, procedures and standards of behavior; reviews and updates policies; ensures annual employee training modules are up to date and completed in a timely manner; attends bimonthly UPH Compliance Meetings; investigates possible compliance violations * Deputy Title IX Coordinator ? serves as a member of the Methodist College Title IX Team which includes conducting investigations, providing education and enforcing sanctions * EEO Officer ? ensures that the College does not discriminate against employees based on sex, race, gender, origin or other legally protected groups, investigates complaints regarding these matters 15% Benefits, Leaves and ADA * Administers tuition waiver, reimbursement and exchange programs * Acts as a resource and provides guidance to employees regarding leaves of absences and serves as liaison between employee and AskHR Leaves. Ensures leaves of absences are reflected correctly within the Kronos payroll system * Provides guidance for ADA requests and consults with Employee Health Services to implement the interactive ADA process 10% Liaison to UnityPoint Health * Acts as a liaison between Methodist College Human Resources and UnityPoint Health Human Resources ensuring alignment where applicable. Attends regular meetings. Maintains reporting relationship to UnityPoint Regional Vice President for Human Resources 10% Responsible for MC HR budget * Develops, tracks and maintains Human Resources department budget including recruitment, dues and subscriptions, employee development, engagement and tuition benefits * Assists CFO with review of salary budget and projections 5% Basic UPH Methodist College Performance Criteria * Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines. * Demonstrates the Methodist College Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures. * Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance. * Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position. * Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare. * Practices and reflects knowledge of FERPA with respect to protecting the privacy of student education records. * Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year. * Is knowledgeable of college compliance requirements. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of leaders. Qualifications Minimum Requirements Preferred or Specialized Education: Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, management or related field. Experience: Five to seven years of progressively responsible experience in multiple HR functional areas. Higher education HR experience. License(s)/Certification(s): Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons. Professional certifications in human resources such as PHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP.
