JOB SUMMARY
- The Department of Pediatrics of the University of Illinois
College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP) seeks Pediatric
Ophthalmology physicians for a position as
Assistant/Associate/Professor of Clinical Pediatrics. The candidate
must hold and MD/DO degree, be BC/BE in Ophthalmology and
successfully complete an AAPOS approved fellowship in Pediatric
Ophthalmology and will hold or be eligible for an Illinois
physician license. This is a faculty position, as such requires
clinical care, teaching medical students and residents, research
and scholarly activities. The position will provide clinical
consultation services for pediatric patients in the Children s
Hospital of Illinois (CHOI)
- Clinical activities of the faculty are primarily concentrated
at CHOI, which is the primary pediatric teaching facility for
UICOMP and is a 132-bed facility that offers over 50 pediatric
programs and services. These programs represent over 100 pediatric
sub-specialist in 24 different disciplines, including the larges
pediatric surgery program in Illinois. CHOI is the only full
service tertiary hospital for children in downstate Illinois with a
children and adult congenital heart disease program, Illinois
Perinatal Center, a Level III neonatal intensive care unit and is
designate as a Level I trauma center.

Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Doctorate Licenses/Certifications: Physician
Licensed to practice medicine in current state.
- Board certified or board eligible in the appropriate specialty
(ies).
- Obtain and maintain medical staff membership and appropriate
privileges.
- Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and
other federal health programs.
- Physician shall meet all qualifications to participate in OSF's
programs for professional malpractice and other liability
coverage.
- Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the
State of Illinois to prescribe narcotics, if applicable. PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide
patient care aligned to the preferences, goals, and needs of the
