Job Description:
Summary : Nurse specialize in caring for patients with complex,
serious illnesses or injuries that require close monitoring.
Establish nursing process, including patient assessment, nursing
diagnosis, planning, intervention evaluation. Reports to Supervisor
of Unit. Duties and Responsibilities: Provides nursing care to
critically ill patients in the CCU. Documents nursing interventions
and patient response according to hospital policy. Evaluates
effectiveness of nursing interventions and methods of
implementation. Wound care and able to identify and stage various
Venous/Stasis/Pressure ulcers Supervises ancillary personnel in
their performance of assigned job-related duties. Ensures patient
confidentiality and the rights of the patient. Administer
medications via PO, IM and Intravenously. Able to titrate
Intravenous medications. Proficient in performing EKG and
interpretation, identify Lethal Rhythms, monitor telemetry.
Nutritional support, including enteral and parenteral nutritional
management and monitoring of metabolic function Complex wound care,
utilizing techniques to promote wound healing. Caring for the
psychosocial needs of the critically ill patient and family.
Education & Experience Requirements: Graduate of an accredited
school of Nursing Current licensure in good standing. AHA BLS and
ACLS required. Minimum one year of current CCU hospital experience.
