Overview

Under the direction of a health care provider, Clinical Nurse RN, is responsible for the delivery of patient care that promotes the safety and well-being of our patients. The RN, in the ambulatory setting utilizes a systematic approach by incorporating assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the practice of nursing. Provides healthcare to individuals, families, and communities within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Illinois Board of Nursing. The patient population consists of individuals experiencing psychiatric conditions.
Qualifications

Certifications:

• Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA),Education: College Diploma: Nursing (Required), Work Experience: Behavioral Health Other Requirements Demonstrates competencies in providing direct patient care to patients/family experiencing psychiatric conditions. Previous clinical experience in a medical office preferred. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work as a team member. Ability to understand and apply guidelines, policies and procedures. Strong computer skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  Responsibilities
  
  
  • Assist provider and other clinical staff with obtaining basic vital information preparing patient for examination, treatment.
  • May be required to draw and collect blood and other samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Apply Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation within licensure guidelines).
  • Telephone triage by providing and documenting advice for home care of illness/conditions; conducting follow-up phone calls regarding patient's health and progress as necessary.
  • Schedule referrals for patients with specialist or outpatient as requested by the provider. Complete appropriate forms or requisitions needed for referrals or lab testing, including appropriate coding.
  • Understand outpatient specialty procedures. Responsible for compliance with precertification requirements.
  • Responsible for tracking system for follow-up appointments related to office visits, laboratory tests and procedures to regularly follow patients monitoring disease status.
  • Provide appropriate and timely documentation in the patient's electronic health record using standardized workflows and processes.
  • Supervision of delegated duties to LPN and CMA on approved clinical protocols.
  • Maintain compliance with CLIA, OSHA, Safety and Risk Management guidelines.
  • Demonstrate initiative to improve quality and customer service by striving to exceed customer expectations.
  • Provides nursing input for initiatives designed to improve the quality of care or clinical outcomes within psychiatry service delivery.
  • Provides health and wellness education to patients and families using the Teach-back method per protocols and guidelines.
  • Provides and facilitates competent health care of patients and families in area of practice. Ensures adherence to established standards of care and scope of practice.
  • Perform other duties as requested by Clinic Administrator to facilitate the smooth and effective operations of the office.

  • Provide appropriate and timely documentation in the patient's electronic health record using department workflows and processes.

    Compensation and Benefits
    
    The compensation range for this position is $29per hour - $49.88per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
