Job Title: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:00 - 06:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Must have active Illinois license or be in application process Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring required Must-Have: Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery First-time travelers accepted No weekend requirement No on-call requirement Will float within scope to meet facility needs Experience in Antepartum, Labor and Delivery, High Risk Antepartum, Level I Nursery, and Mother/Baby care Description: Position involves care for patients in labor and delivery settings. Responsibilities include assisting in high risk deliveries and vaginal deliveries. Candidate must be proficient in circulating for C-sections and recovering patients post-operatively. Skills in fetal monitoring, including external and internal methods, are essential. Experience in pain management techniques, including epidural anesthesia, is required. Candidate must also possess skills in postpartum care for patients following both vaginal and cesarean deliveries. Knowledge of newborn assessments and care practices is necessary. Familiarity with medication administration, particularly for antihypertensives and magnesium sulfate therapy, is required. Participation in triage of obstetrical patients is expected. Ability to perform sterile exams and manage IV therapy is essential for this role. Community hospital experience is preferred. Experience with electronic charting systems is required.
