Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 11/24/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN with Level 1 Trauma and Epic experience for a hospital orthopedic unit in Illinois. Responsibilities - Work in a hospital setting on a Medical/Surgical unit specializing in Orthopedics - Day shifts from 7:00am to 7:30pm, three 12-hour shifts per week - Care for orthopedic patients within a Med/Surg population - EPIC charting system experience is required - This is a 13-week travel assignment - Level 1 Trauma experience required - Provide comprehensive nursing care to orthopedic and surgical patients utilizing established protocols - Responsible for developing and modifying patient care plans, interventions, and documentation - Adhere to departmental competencies and maintain up-to-date records for the healthcare team - Maximum of 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract - First-time travelers are accepted - Dress code requires appropriate clinical attire as per unit standards - No travel partners accepted for this assignment - Travelers may not remain at the facility for more than one year without a six-month break before returning Requirements - Active Illinois RN license; temp license accepted - Minimum of one year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience is required - Current American Heart Association BLS certification - Associate's degree in Nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred - Demonstrated experience with EPIC EMR and Level 1 Trauma centers - Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-628542.
