Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 11/10/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Long Term Acute Care Med/Surg position requiring an active IL license and BLS certification. Responsibilities - Work in a Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) Med/Surg unit within an acute care setting - Unit has 10 beds and provides care for patients with respiratory failure, post-surgical needs, wound care, IV antibiotics, post CVA, post trauma, and cardiac conditions - Nurse to patient ratio is 1:5 - Responsibilities include PEG tube care and feedings, use and care of CVC/PICC/Midline, management of tracheostomy patients, and titration of Heparin drips - 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week (7p-7a) with rotating weekends and holidays - RNs may float to ICU and Acute Rehab as needed - Epic EMR is used in the unit; experience preferred - Work closely with a house supervisor available 24/7 and supported by nurse aids/patient care techs with a 1:10 ratio - Respiratory therapists manage all respiratory equipment in the unit - Monitor techs observe tele packs housewide, with monitoring based in the ICU - Scrubs of any color are allowed; only OSF approved t-shirts are permitted - Classroom orientation followed by 2 unit-specific shifts with a preceptor will be provided - Holiday rotation and additional weekend coverage may be required - Position does not currently have an on-call requirement, but this may change Requirements - Active IL RN license required at time of consideration - Current BLS (AHA) certification required; ACLS preferred but not required - Minimum of 1 year of recent RN experience - Proficiency in providing PEG tube care/feedings, managing CVC/PICC/Midline, caring for tracheostomy patients, and titrating Heparin drips Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-624030.
