Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: MRI Technologist - Discipline: Allied Health Professional - Start Date: 11/17/2025 - Duration: 20 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist for a 20-week night shift contract in an acute Level 1 trauma setting, requiring current BLS and ARRT (MR) certification. Responsibilities - Work in an acute care hospital MRI unit at a Level 1 trauma center - Care for both inpatients and outpatients, including emergency department cases - GE MRI scanners (1.5T 450W and 3T 750W) are used in the department - Responsibilities include starting IVs and following MRI safety guidelines - Use Epic for EMR charting - 12-hour night shifts required - One weekend shift per month is required - Possible holiday coverage may be needed - No on-call or standby requirements - Must cover both inpatients, outpatients, and emergency department patients as needed - Standard solid-colored scrubs must be worn and are not provided by the facility - Tattoos must be covered while on duty - One week department-specific orientation provided based on familiarity with GE MRI scanners - Drug-free campus; a negative drug screen is required for all panels Requirements - Minimum 1 year of experience as an MRI Technologist - Current BLS (AHA) and ARRT (MR) certifications are required - Familiarity with operating GE MRI equipment and standard MRI acquisition sequences - Ability to start IVs independently - Experience using Epic EMR is preferred - Active Illinois license required if applicable Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-617047.
