Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 11/24/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night shift Med/Surg Admit/Discharge Unit position requiring EPIC and Level 1 trauma experience with an active IL RN license. Responsibilities - Work in a hospital Advance Care Unit focusing on admission and discharge of Med/Surg patients - Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week - Patient care in an acute Med/Surg setting with a variety of cases - Use of EPIC electronic medical record system is required - Provide comprehensive patient assessments, develop individualized plans of care, and implement evidence-based interventions - Rapidly assess and interpret patient data to manage acute and chronic conditions - Perform bedside lab testing and proper specimen collection - Utilize patient education systems and adapt teaching strategies to individual needs - Participate in unit-based councils and performance improvement initiatives - Adherence to National Patient Safety Goals and hospital quality standards required - No travel partner assignments accepted - Maximum of 7 days of requested time off permitted per 13-week contract - Contingent workers may not remain on assignment for more than one year; a 6-month break is required before returning Requirements - Active IL RN license required; temporary licenses are accepted - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required - Minimum of one year of relevant Med/Surg nursing experience - Level 1 trauma experience required - Experience using EPIC EMR required - College diploma in Nursing required - Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-628879.
