Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for
a Day Shift Med/Surg Admit/Discharge Unit assignment requiring IL
RN license, EPIC proficiency, and Level 1 trauma experience.
Responsibilities - Work in a hospital-based Advance Care Unit
focused on admissions and discharges - Day shift, 7:00am to 7:30pm,
three 12-hour shifts per week - Patient population includes acute
and chronic medical-surgical cases - Uses EPIC EMR system;
experience with EPIC is required - This is a 13-week contract
assignment - Responsible for rapid assessment, care planning, and
evidence-based decision-making for complex patients - Performs
bedside lab testing and specimen collection as needed -
Participates in patient education and adapts teaching strategies to
individual needs - Ensures patient safety and compliance with
hospital policy and national patient safety goals - Contributes to
performance improvement initiatives and participates in unit-based
councils - May not continuously contract for more than one year at
the same facility; a 6-month break is required before returning -
Requested time off may not exceed 7 days during the 13-week
contract - Scrub attire required as per hospital guidelines -
Travel partners are not accepted on this assignment Requirements -
Active Illinois RN license required; temporary IL license accepted
- Current BLS certification required - Minimum of 1 year recent
med/surg RN experience - Level 1 trauma experience required -
College diploma in nursing required - EPIC EMR experience required
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates
