Job Description American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Peoria, Illinois. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 18 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel \n Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN with general Med/Surg experience and an active IL RN license for a night shift position in an acute medical care unit. \n \n Responsibilities\n Acute care general medical-surgical unit with 20 beds Patient population includes a wide range of general medical patients Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-5 for days and 1:5-6 for nights Shift schedule is three 12-hour night shifts per week, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Weekend requirement is every other weekend Requires working 3 out of 6 major holidays Travel RNs are first to float; floating is otherwise based on rotation Some patients are on telemetry monitored by central station techs using Phillips monitors; bedside RNs are not required to read strips EMR system used is Epic Daily responsibilities include caring for general acute Med/Surg patients with a focus on collaboration and strong communication Charge nurse and house supervisor are available 24/7, with charge nurse typically not taking a patient assignment unless needed Patient care techs provide 24-hour support; ratios are 1:6-7 on days and 1:10 on nights No vents used on the unit No specific scrub color required Department-specific orientation is provided No COVID vaccine required for eligibility Local candidates are accepted with adjusted pay rates based on a 50-mile radius \n \n Requirements\n Active IL RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses will not be accepted Current BLS certification from AHA required Minimum of 1 year recent Med/Surg experience in an acute care setting General medicine experience with strong teamwork and communication skills required Epic EMR experience preferred \n Benefits\n High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts \n American Traveler Job ID P-623481.
