Peoria is a top destination for Illinois nursing jobs, known for its vibrant riverfront, welcoming community, and scenic parks—making it an ideal location for travel nurses seeking both professional growth and lifestyle benefits./n /n/nCardiac Stepdown RN Job Details/n /n - Location: Peoria, Illinois 61637/n - Assignment Length: 13 weeks/n - Start Date: January 19, 2026/n - End Date: April 20, 2026/n - Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – Cardiac Stepdown Unit (20 beds)/n - Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (7pm–7am)/n - Hours: 36 hours per week, every other weekend and holiday rotation/n - Charting System: EPIC/n - Dress Code: Any color scrubs/n /n/nRegistered Nurse Qualifications/n /n - Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license or proof of application/n - Minimum 1 year recent ICU or Intermediate/Stepdown RN experience (nurse-to-patient ratio 3:1 or 2:1)/n - Experience with trach and ventilated patients/n - BLS certification (AHA required)/n - ACLS certification recommended/n - Proficient in titrating cardiac drips (Cardene, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Heparin, Vasopressors)/n - Must pass a drug screen (OSF is a drug-free campus)/n /n/nCardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities/n /n - Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with cardiac, respiratory, renal, and neurological conditions/n - Manage advanced therapies: BiPAP, CPAP, ventilators, trachs, chest tubes, G-tubes, NG tubes, PICC lines, central lines/n - Titrate and monitor cardiac drips as required/n - Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including charge nurses, patient care techs, and monitor techs/n - Interpret and confirm cardiac monitor strips; respond promptly to changes in patient status/n - Float to ICU, other Stepdown, or General Medicine units as needed/n - Document patient care accurately using EPIC/n - Participate in comprehensive orientation (EPIC training, unit orientation, floor shadowing)/n /n Apply now to join our healthcare team in Peoria, Illinois and take the next step in your nursing career with this Cardiac Stepdown RN travel job!
