Registered Nurse (RN) | Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care Location: Peoria, IL Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,330 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Active state license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - PEG tube care/feedings - CVC/PICC/Midline usage and care - Tracheostomy care - Experience caring for sedated, ventilated patients - Ability to titrate vasopressors and manage sedation and pain control drips Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in a high-acuity unit, specifically the Intensive Care Unit. The unit consists of 8 beds, with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2-3. Common diagnoses include respiratory failure, post-surgical patients, wound care, IV antibiotics, post-stroke care, post-trauma patients, and cardiac patients. Nurses are expected to titrate drips including Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl, Versed, Lasix, Insulin, Amiodarone, Nitro, Levophed, and Dopamine. A charge nurse is available on each shift, with house supervisors available 24/7. Nurses provide primary care in the ICU without assistance from aides or patient care technicians. A hospitalist or intensivist is present in-house during the day shift, while tele-health is available after hours. Respiratory Therapy staff are available in the unit 24/7, and nurses will troubleshoot equipment as necessary. All ICU beds are equipped with hard-wired telemetry monitors that are centrally monitored. Shifts require rotating weekend and holiday work, with a self-scheduling option available for filling gaps. The cancellation policy is set at one shift per 13 weeks. Charting will be done using the Epic system. This position does not require a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
