Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details Location: Springfield, IL 62781 (Illinois nursing jobs) Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Contract Unit: Cardiac Stepdown (IMC/PCU/Stepdown) Facility: Acute Care, Level I Trauma, Magnet Hospital Start Date: December 8, 2025 End Date: March 9, 2026 Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 – 07:15), 3x12 or 4x12 per week Hours per Week: 36 Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2000-$2050 Patient Ratio: 1:4 Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Charting: Cerner EMR Scrub Color: Any solid color Parking: Free with permit Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Illinois RN license (required at submission) Minimum 1 year of recent Cardiac Stepdown, IMC, PCU, or Telemetry nursing experience Travel nursing experience required BLS and NIHSS certifications (ACLS preferred) Experience with Cerner charting system preferred Level I Trauma and teaching hospital experience preferred Ability to float within scope as needed Willingness to work 2 out of 3 major holidays if assignment spans holiday period Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a Cardiac Stepdown/IMC/PCU setting Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; manage dysrhythmias Care for post-cardiac angiogram, post-MI, pre/post cardiac cath, and post-cardiac surgery patients Perform sheath removal, TR band management, and feeding tube care Manage pre/post hemodialysis, renal failure, and central/arterial/PICC line care Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, heparin protocols, and blood products Care for ventilated patients, tracheostomies, chest tubes, and use of CPAP/BIPAP/HFNC Provide wound care, wound vac management, and isolation precautions Respond to rapid response and code situations as needed Float to other nursing units within scope as required Ready to take the next step in your nursing career?
