Key Responsibilities of the Travel CVICU Registered Nurse: Provide
high-acuity nursing care to post-operative cardiac and thoracic
surgery patients Monitor and manage patients requiring mechanical
ventilation, vasoactive drips, and invasive hemodynamic monitoring
Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure
safe, evidence-based care Interpret cardiac rhythms, lab values,
and hemodynamic data to guide interventions Administer medications
and perform complex procedures in accordance with unit protocols
Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient
outcomes in EMR systems Support patient and family education
related to cardiac recovery and post-surgical care Requirements of
the Travel CVICU Registered Nurse: Active RN license (Illinois or
compact state) BLS certification required Minimum of 2 years of
recent CVICU RN experience in an acute care setting Strong cardiac
monitoring, critical thinking, and communication skills Experience
with post-cardiac surgery recovery and advanced hemodynamic support
