working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Cath Lab RN in
Peoria, Illinois, 61637! Job Title: Cardiac Cath Lab RN Profession:
Registered Nurse Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 9-hour Days Hours per Shift: 4 shifts per week Experience: 2
years License: Active state license required Certifications: BLS,
ACLS Must-Have: Ability to read strips. Experience with titrating
drips. Description: The unit has 6 suites/labs. The average number
of cases per day is between 4-20. Common diagnoses include STEMI,
NSTEMI, heart failure, congenital issues, TAVR, MitraClip, and
peripheral cases. The Cath Lab operates separately from
Interventional Radiology and Electrophysiology. Cardiologists are
on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. A charge nurse is present
on each shift to serve as a resource and coordinate activities.
Nurses may occasionally need to work overtime to complete all
cases, especially if there are emergent cases. There is a
requirement for call shifts, including 6-8 shifts per month and
weekend call approximately every 6-7 weeks. Weekend shifts begin
Friday evening and conclude Monday morning. Nurses will also serve
as backup circulators for emergent cases during weekend shifts.
Holiday call requirements include being available for specific
holiday shifts. Scrubs are provided for the staff. Unit-specific
orientation consists of 2-3 shifts. The charting system used is
electronic medical records software. The department operates in an
