Registered Nurse (RN) | Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care Location: Decatur, IL Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,308 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/16/2026 About the Position Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:00 - 06:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience required License: Must have an active Illinois license to apply Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response Skills/Experience Description: ICU RN with Cardiac experience or CVICU RN needed. The unit has 20 rooms/beds with a 1:2 patient ratio. Required skills include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Ability to obtain 12 lead EKG is necessary. Pre/Post Cardiac Cath/intervention skills/experience are required. Experience with chronic/acute renal failure is essential. IV therapy skills/experience including accessing ports, arterial line management, and blood product administration are mandatory. Candidates must have central line care/management and PICC line management skills. Starting IVs is necessary. Medication experience required includes continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips. CVA/acute stroke management experience is essential. Respiratory/thoracic skills required include assisting with management of BiPAP and CPAP. Care of ventilated patients and high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) are necessary. Candidates must be able to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and provide suctioning (ETT, NT). Ventilator management experience is required. Professional topics include infection prevention, isolation precautions, and use of PPE. Knowledge of code blue and rapid response procedures is necessary. The facility type is an acute care hospital with 372 staffed beds. Total staff includes interdisciplinary support services such as IV teams, physical therapy, and rapid response teams. Common patient diagnoses consist of chest pain, CHF, A-fib, NSTEMI, dysrhythmia, post cardiac interventions, and stroke. Special procedures performed include cardiac cath recovery, chest tube procedures, and code blue situations. Special equipment available includes IV pumps, ventilators, telemetry, and defibrillators. Travelers are required to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliates if needed. All travelers must have a record of attendance and behavior issues during the contract duration. Completion of pre-start modules and annual updates are mandatory. Candidates should be aware of strict deadlines for module completion. This role requires a dedicated and skilled nurse to provide quality care in a fast-paced environment.
