Peoria (zip code 61637) provides a vibrant riverfront, parks, and a welcoming community—ideal for short-term travel assignments in Central Illinois. /n/nJob Details/n /n - Position: Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) / Telemetry Nurse / Step-down Nurse/n - Location: Peoria, IL 61637 (Central Illinois)/n - Setting: Cardiac Stepdown / Acute Care (20-bed unit: 8 private, remainder semi-private)/n - Assignment Type: Travel Contract (13 weeks)/n - Start Date: March 16, 2026 • End Date: June 15, 2026/n - Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) • 36 guaranteed hrs/week/n - Charting System: EPIC (electronic health record)/n - Dress Code: Any color scrubs/n - Estimated Weekly Salary: $2130-$2250/week/n /n/nJob Requirements / Qualifications/n /n - Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois, or proof of application in process (compact/license reciprocity not assumed)/n - Minimum 1 year of recent ICU or Intermediate (Stepdown) experience with 3:1 or 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratios/n - Strong experience with trach and ventilator (vent) management required/n - BLS (AHA) required; ACLS recommended/n - Proven ability to titrate and monitor drips (e.g., Cardene, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Heparin, vasopressors)/n - Proficiency with telemetry interpretation and Phillips monitors/n - Ability to work every other weekend and holiday rotations; willingness to float to ICU, other Stepdown, or General Medicine units as needed/n - Negative drug screen required/n /n/nResponsibilities/n /n - Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care for cardiac, respiratory, neuro, and post-surgical patients in a Cardiac Stepdown/telemetry setting/n - Monitor and manage patients with complex conditions such as CHF, COPD, sepsis, DKA, renal failure, and post-op cardiac issues/n - Provide care for patients with advanced interventions: tracheostomies, mechanical ventilation, chest tubes, g-tubes, NG tubes, PICC lines, and central lines/n - Titrate and monitor cardiac and vasoactive infusions; respond to hemodynamic changes per protocol/n - Confirm and interpret telemetry strips and communicate changes to the multidisciplinary team/n - Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately in EPIC/n - Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care techs, tele/monitor techs, physicians, and allied health staff to ensure safe care transitions/n - Participate in unit orientation, skills validation, and ongoing clinical education/n /n/n Keywords: Cardiac Stepdown RN, Registered Nurse, Travel Nursing, Peoria nursing jobs, Illinois nursing jobs, telemetry nurse, critical care nurse, EPIC charting, trach and vent, ACLS, BLS. /n/n Apply now to be considered for this Cardiac Stepdown RN travel nursing position in Peoria, IL.
