Job Description:
State Farm, a leader in insurance and financial services since
1922, is seeking a skilled In-House Fire Claim Counsel to join our
dedicated Legal & Regulatory Compliance team. This role focuses on
the legal aspects of fire claims within our broad range of
insurance offerings. The ideal candidate will provide expert legal
advice, manage litigation activities and ensure compliance with all
applicable laws and regulations, particularly those related to fire
incidents and claims. As a pivotal part of our legal team, you'll
work closely with other legal professionals, claims adjusters, and
underwriters to deliver exceptional services and outcomes for State
Farm and our policyholders. This role demands a high level of
expertise in insurance law, exceptional analytical skills, and a
firm commitment to uphold the ethos of State Farm. Provide legal
advice and guidance on issues relating to fire insurance claims.
Represent State Farm in court or before quasi-judicial or
administrative bodies of jurisdiction. Oversee and direct the
handling of fire claim cases from inception through resolution.
Collaborate with claims adjusters, underwriters, and other
attorneys to analyze and resolve legal issues. Develop legal
strategies to effectively manage costs and time in resolving
claims. Stay updated with changes in insurance law and regulations
relevant to fire claims. Manage external counsel when required,
ensuring compliance and cost-efficiency. Strong expertise in fire
insurance law Excellent litigation and negotiation skills Ability
to work collaboratively in a team-centric environment Strong
analytical and problem-solving skills Effective oral and written
communication skills Proficient in legal research software and

Admission to the bar in the state of practice is mandatory.
Certifications in Fire and Casualty Insurance highly
recommended.
