Electrical Hardware Engineer

The responsibility of the Electrical Hardware Engineer is daily management of projects involving electronic product design to improve performance, quality, features and optimize costs for the door controls product category.  This individual is experienced in low power wireless, microcontrollers, and hardware, who is looking to serve a key role and make a difference within our product lifecycle engineering team.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering
  • 3 years of relevant experience in embedded electronics design

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Design Analog & Digital Circuits
  • Proficient in PCB CAD Design, manufacture and assembly
  • Utilize data and standard problem-solving techniques to resolve daily production issues
  • Manage projects from design inception through launch using tools to reduce risk, and meet customer requirements, budget and defined timeline targets.
  • Work individually and with functional and cross-functional teams to identify innovative solutions to customer requests and problems
  • Effectively communicate in a professional, positive, courteous manner with all levels of employees, visitors, vendors and customers.

Highly Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Microcontroller Hardware and Hardware Design
  • Wireless, Low Power wireless & battery powered hardware
  • Communications Protocols; UART, SPI, I2C, RS232, USB, Ethernet
  • Managing system electrical requirements and evaluating and mitigating system risks
  • UL/FCC Certification testing and on-site audits
  • Experience in high-volume electronics manufacturing
  • Experience in manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, or reliability engineering
  • Good organizational skills being able to multitask on multiple development projects
