Job Summary:Installation and Support Technicians are critical to delivering on i3's promise of the world's most advanced internet, television, and voice services with the industry's best customer service. Installation & Support Technicians focus primarily on new installations of our cable television and broadband services. Technicians represent i3 every day to our customers, often in the customer's home, performing a variety of duties including installation, changes of service, additional outlet installation, disconnection of service, payment collection, and any special requests customers may have regarding the installation or use of services.Duties/Responsibilities:

• Make customer drop installations (exterior and interior) complete from tap to antenna terminals on customer equipment in customer dwellings.
• Perform new connects, reconnects, requested and non-pay disconnects; add outlets; install and/or remove converters; perform upgrades and downgrades of service.
• Analyze picture quality and judge acceptability of picture delivered following installation of cable service.
• Use connectors, fasteners, and wire, and use customary ethernet hand and power tools in the performance of job duties.
• Read signal levels through the use of field strength meter; add and subtract levels in installation problems; install connectors on different types of drop cable; maintain proper clearances; install tap-off devices.
• Properly use, store and maintain a VOM or DMM to check for "open" or "short" online as well as AC and DC voltages.
• Read general drop system layouts from blueprints.
• Inform customers of FCC Rules and company policies.
• Complete appropriate paperwork/system logs as required.
• Perform vehicle upkeep and maintenance to keep company vehicles clean, fueled, and in good working order; report problems promptly.
• Perform clean-up or salvage of wrecked materials.
• Generate additional company revenue through effective sales techniques and by offering information about product options, sales campaigns, and promotions.
• Assist other team members or perform other duties as directed.Required Skills/Abilities:

    • No prior experience is necessary, however, any demonstrated interest or aptitude for hands-on work, physical work, or working with cable or electrical components is preferred.
    • Prior telephone, cable, or electrical experience is preferred.Physical Requirements:
      • Must be able to work outdoors, and in all weather conditions.
      • Must be able to walk, bend, and lift up to 75 pounds.
      • Better than average manual dexterity to work with connectors, fasteners and wire and use hand tools.
      • Visual acuity, especially when working with small components at a close visual range.
      • Ability and comfort to works within limited confines, such as crawl spaces and attics.
      • Ability to climb a ladder or work from high spaces with or without the assistance of a bucket truck, while adhering to safety rules/regulations and with proper rigging/climbing equipment. PI182559982
