    Position Type: Full-Time
    FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt
    SUMMARY:
    The role of this position is to plan the layout, install, maintain and service plumbing, ventilation, and heating/cooling units.
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    JOB REQUIREMENTS
    • Performs daily preventative maintenance checks by taking gauge readings to identify any problems and maintain the proper function of the following systems.
    • Plumbing - includes all water refrigerate lines, water piping, steam lines, wastewater lines, potable water lines, hot and chill water piping.
    • Ventilation - includes air conditioning, air handlers, refrigerant air conducting equipment, air compressors, and pneumatic air compressors.
    • Heating Units - includes boilers, hydronic heaters, and steam heater systems.
    • Perform all requirements of sanitation HACCP and GMP standards including hairnet, beard net, and personal hygiene policies. Special clothing may be required from time to time for sanitation purposes.
    • Observe and practice safety procedures at all times. Be safety conscious. Correct or notify supervisor of safety hazards. In the event of an accident, notify the supervisor immediately. Attend Safety Meetings. EQUIPMENT CARE:
      The position will oversee:
      • Centrifugal chillers
      • Steam boilers
      • Water quality equipment
      • Filter sand and fast flow
      • Water pumps
      • Water testing for industrial water waste and process QUALIFICATIONS:
        To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
        The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
      • Individuals must show a strong aptitude in industrial plumbing, Ventilation, and/or Heating UnitS troubleshooting skills and repair.
      • Must be able to read and write.
      • Must be trained and certified in forklift operation or be able to obtain one.
      • Must be trained in LOTO and other safety training as required for safe performance of job duties.
      • Must be self-motivated, possess or able to obtain leadership skills, able to read, write, and comprehend directives and accomplish those directives with little or no supervision.
      • Demonstrate leadership skills in working with others and be able to take the initiative to self-start projects and tasks.
      • Must possess good documentation skills for reports and data collection.
      • Communicate well with area personnel and give feedback to the department. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
      • High School graduate or equivalent. Technical school certification and or college degree is a plus.
      • Formal technical training or five years minimum work experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting. LANGUAGE SKILLS:
        Verbal and written English skills are required for safety, equipment maintenance, and recording of information.
        WORK SCHEDULES:
        Our plants operate at all times, and employees are expected to work assigned days and times. Work schedules for employees vary throughout our organization. Supervisors will inform employees or crews of their work schedules. Staffing needs and operational demands may necessitate variations in starting and ending times, as well as variations in the total hours that may be scheduled each day and week.
        All employees are employed at will, and the employee or Monterey Mushrooms may end employment for any reason at any time. The at-will status cannot be changed verbally
        Work Environment:
        Characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
        The employee works 70% of the time indoors on level concrete in various areas including growing rooms, packing rooms, administration offices, and boiler rooms; works 30% of the time outdoors on or near the equipment. Surfaces include level concrete that is sometimes moist, dirt, asphalt, ladders, machinery, and uneven ground.
