Position Description
North & Central Illinois Division - Peoria Area Command
Position Title: Facilities Manager
Job Summary: The facilities manager is responsible for the
maintenance and repair of approximately 5 residential and 9 small
commercial properties (properties) primarily located in the Peoria
area which are owned and operated by The Salvation Army (Army). The
position supports operation activities focused on providing
essential services to those in need. Duties range from securing
subcontractor services for major projects to basic maintenance and
repair of the properties. Work environment includes an office and
use of light duty truck with occasional exposure to inclement
weather.
Reports To: DS - Peoria Area Command
Supervises: DHQ/Peoria Campus Maintenance Staff

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Supervision of Salvation Army maintenance workers and janitorial
staff associated with Peoria Area Command, Administrative Offices,
Child Care, Veterans Center, Family Center and Fites Building.
Supervise seasonal workers or volunteers associated with property
maintenance.
SCOPE OF DUTIES:
Maintenance and repair activities associated with:
Project management activities for large and/or complex projects
including:
Safety oversight:
Other areas of responsibility:
Assist with transportation of bulk mail and materials as needed
including gifts-in-kind and donations.
Position Ranking:
Physical Demands/ Work Environment:
This Position is required to do moderate physical work. To
successfully perform the essential functions of this position, the
individual is regularly required to lift and bend, move,
occasionally required to position self to stoop, kneel or crouch,
frequently required to reach with and use arms and hands as
required in using tools, landscaping equipment, climb ladders and
work in varying and sometimes extreme temperature environments.
Specific vision abilities by this job include close vision,
distance vision and ability to focus. The work environment for this
position includes an office, warehouse, and outdoor environment.
Individual must be able to continuously lift to twenty-five pounds,
frequently up to thirty-five pounds and occasionally up to fifty
pounds.
